I'm turning 40, I have a child that is hospitalized with a mental illness, and 2 teen-agers at home. Oh, and I'm a single dad. That's enough to have a beef with, but then I turn on the news and look at the crap that is going on. That's where I tend to explode. Not just with the Govt issues, either. That's another category altogether. But just the stuff that the American people put up with that has nothing to do with the Govt.
Let's hit #1 on my list:
Child Predators (notice I didn't say "Molesters")
In this day and age Molesters have been allowed to come out of the dark into the light of day and therefore have become predators. These people have scared 2 whole generations of people into thinking that all they can do is hide their children, and not let them out of their sight. When was the last time a parent was able to take their child to the park, or grocery store, or movie hall and not have to watch them like a hawk? When I was a kid we had run of the neighborhood as long as we were home for dinner. Now we have to get GPS for our kids. Our kids grow up as prisoners because we are scared, and we complain that the police aren't doing their jobs, or the Govt isn't doing theirs. What happened to getting to know your neighbors? What happened to Men standing up for their families? I don't mean that last comment to sound sexist, but it's true.
I knew as a kid that if I got into trouble I could run to any of my neighbors and they would help me with whatever was wrong. These predators need to understand that they are not dealing with children...if they touch one of mine they will be dealing with me. Sure, I'll call the cops...when I'm at their door...that should give me at least 5 mins alone with them (20 mins in some rural areas). The problem with that is then the MOLESTER can sue me!!! Because I violated his rights??? Where is justice in that? The American people need to stand up and tell the justice dept what Justice is. We let them make laws that have such big loopholes in them you could drive a truck through. The molester can get off because a form wasn't filled out right, or because he had a good lawyer, or, this is the best: because he found God!!!!! I mean c'mon people STAND UP FOR YOUR CHILDREN!!! Take back your parks, your streets, your neighborhoods. If we can't rely on our legal system, then we have to rely on each other. That's how this country was founded, we worked together to change things. We would all be drinking tea right now instead of the heavenly Java if we didn't stand up to England and say we won't take this. Patriots are rolling in their graves over the state of American society today. I love my kids, and I'll be damned if I'll let someone hurt them. Every day we look on the news and see where someones child has been taken, I know that my first thought is, "They're going to find them in a ditch." So what do I do...I scare my kids. "Don't get into a car with anyone...they'll find you dead in a ditch." Why do we do this??? Why don't we scare the Predator??? "If you touch my child...you'll be found in a ditch!" We're scared people. That's the simple fact. But let me tell you a truth: There are more of us, than there are of them. You just got to look at it as weeding a garden, let the good things grow, and pluck the weeds.
I hear people all the time: Put your faith in God, or Allah, or Goddess, whatever your belief is. That's fine. Everyone has their own belief. But while a parent is praying for their child to be safe, someone else is PREYING on your kids. Protect your kids, protect your neighbors kids, protect any kid you see. They don't see things the way we do, why should they? They are children, not little adults. Children should be happy, and safe. They shouldn't have to worry about getting snatched & killed. The only thing they should be thinking about is having fun doing what they are doing. If they are in school, have fun learning. If they are at home they should be basking in the love of their family. If they are playing in the neighborhood, then have fun playing ball, or hopscotch, or whatever their imagination can dream up. But we make them scared, we tell them to watch everyone, don't let anyone get close, DON'T TRUST!!! People, without trust, we have nothing. Without our children we have less than nothing.
Hug your child
